sometimes i make comics that i expect only myself will find funny, so i just do this when someone doesn’t get those comics
This is a completely true story. Could NOT hear the Ramones on the radio a few months ago while everyone else in the car could. How embarrassing.
I had to bring a bucket to collect all the bones coming out of there after working in the two Illustrated Thesaurus books!
Super apologies for the delayed comic, but here’s a tale as old as time from this year’s Denver Comic Con!
Extra special thanks to everyone that come by the booth, both new faces and every amazing person that came back from last year! You all ROCK! My only regrets are that I didn’t have bags for you(AGAIN!) and that I didn’t take pictures with you.
NEXT YEAR.
I do have some pics to post here, but I need to sketch out some more comics(it’s Wednesday night as I type this) and I’ll make a fuller con-recap post this weekend!
Hourly Comic Day was yesterday: I failed! I’m not mad or anything. I just don’t have a way to do a quick comic that isn’t stick figures. Plus, I don’t have a super cool caricature of myself to draw quickly like many of the other amazing comic artists out there.
I gotta work on that!
However, I think a few of these are pretty decent comics. Especially that last one. Comics process jokes!
Also, this is a pretty big file. Apologies for that.
Thanks for stopping by!
Do you wait until someone kicks the door open? Or just go for the handle?!
There’s very limited stock in some of the Life is Pain tees, so if you’re interested you need to act fast.
Apologies for missing the last comic and for being late with this one. I hope you’ll forgo sending me hate mail. Although that would be better than no mail at all…
Important and fun news: some folks convinced me to sign up for an Artist Alley table at Denver Comic Con next year! I would be ever so pleased if you came to visit me there next year. If you’re interested in seeing me drunk in public(of course I’ll sneak a flask in – how else could I deal with you strangers), why not let me know what you’d like me to bring by emailing me: aj (at) stewped (dot) com or sending me tweets on twitter? Or asking me some sort of questions on Tumblr? I also have a Google+ profile with a link wherein you can send me messages. Tell me what drawings you’d like me to bring. Or shirts maybe? Thinking of kickstarting some more Life is Pain stuff…
Marlo Meekins tweeted about doing an “earliest memory” comic.
This was one of those memories that strikes you out of nowhere because a link between two different concepts in your brain had finally been formed.
I have a similar memory about asking for a sip of my dad’s orange juice and it tasted AWFUL. It wasn’t til I was about 27 and making Screw Drivers at home when it finally occurred to me why it tasted so bad. VODKA IN THE ORANGE JUICE!
Yes, I went to church camp once. No, it was not fun. Yes, there were group showers. No, it was not fun.
This comic contains massive hyperbole.
I was just about to export this when I noticed that I spelled weren’t as ‘were’nt.’ Dodged a bullet there.
This also launches the title of my so-called journal comic, “i am an adult.”
Really, if there were a test to be called a grown-up, I wouldn’t have passed.
